The path between the flange and the tube is closed, so nothing that touches milk travels up into the motor. This is the difference between rinsing four small parts after a session and worrying about what is growing inside a tube you cannot reach.
Time on screen turns a session into a number instead of a guess. It also runs the auto shutoff, so falling asleep mid session ends with the pump off rather than the pump running until morning.
The flanges in this kit are 24 mm, the size that fits the largest share of people. It is also the size most often wrong. If the fit pinches or the areola pulls deep into the tunnel, the flange is the problem, not the suction level, and our sizing guide covers what to measure.
Every part that touches milk is food-grade silicone with no BPA. That is the floor for anything in this category, not a feature, and we would rather say plainly that it meets the standard than dress it up.
