Accessibility

WCAG 2.1 level AA is the target, and here is where we actually stand.

What we build to

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, level AA. In practice that means text contrast checked against the background it sits on, headings in a real order rather than picked for size, alternative text on product photographs that describes the product, and form fields with labels attached to them.

Keyboard and screen reader

Every link, button and menu on this site can be reached with the Tab key, and the focus outline is left visible on purpose. The mobile menu opens from the keyboard. Product pages are tested with VoiceOver on Safari and NVDA on Firefox, because those two disagree often enough to be worth checking separately.

Text size and motion

The layout holds together at 200 percent zoom without horizontal scrolling. Hover animations are small and decorative, and there is nothing that flashes.
