Two different tools. The right one depends on where you pump, not on which is newer.
People ask which is better. The more useful question is where you will be sitting at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday, because that answers it faster than any spec sheet.

If you mostly pump at home, sitting down, near a sink, the wearable is solving a problem you do not have. It costs more per side, holds less, and its battery becomes one more thing to remember. A tabletop double pump running on mains power with 6 oz bottles is simply the better tool in that setting.
No private room at work, a commute long enough to need a session in it, a toddler who needs supervising during the 20 minutes: these are the cases where a wearable stops being a luxury. It is not quieter and it does not pump faster. It removes the requirement to be somewhere specific, which for some schedules is the entire problem.
Plenty of people end up with a double electric at home and a single wearable in the work bag, which costs less than two full sets and covers both situations properly. If you are choosing one to start with, start with the one that matches where most of your sessions will happen, and add the other later if the schedule demands it.
Suction numbers on the box. A 380 mmHg wearable is not automatically better than a 300 mmHg one, because the level that works is the one you can sit at comfortably for 20 minutes. Most people spend their sessions in the middle of the range regardless of where the top of it sits.
